2016 Fashion Trends And How To Wear Them

20 July

Fashion trends change from season to season and year to year. Just when you think you have the trend pinned down, it changes. Getting ahead of the trend and knowing how to put your outfits together is the best way to ensure you don’t miss out on a passing style. See below for a few trends happening now and how to wear them.

Boho Style

Boho styles are flowy and relaxed and seen in dresses or blouses. They come in different prints including tribal, geometric or floral, although some are a little more plain such as plain white. Pair these dresses or blouses with a great pair of chunky wedges and a handful of long necklace pendants. To top off the look, add a great wide-brim, structured hat in black, white or camel.

Rompers

You may have worn one of these when you were very small, but now you can rock that look again as an adult in a more grown-up version. Rompers can be worn to the pool, on a casual day out, or even dressed up for date night (depending on the romper). Wear your romper with a pair of heels to elongate your legs and wear a great watch or a handful of bracelets. Pull your hair up in a top knot or low chignon to help showcase your outfit.

Color And Patterns

If you love color, then this is the year for you. Color and patterns are big this year and seen everywhere from colored skinny jeans and patterned shorts to mixed patterned crop tops and skirts, not to mention brightly color-blocked bikinis that are also on trend. Pair your colored jeans or patterned shorts with plain colored tops if you aren’t really into mixing patterns or colors too much. If you want to take a risk, try to mix patterns such as bold black and white stripes with a floral bottom.

Minimalist Style

If buying new clothing just isn’t in your budget, try to use old pieces and make them look new. Pair a baggy boyfriend tee with a strappy bra or a colored bralette beneath and wear it with a pair of skinny jeans and sandals, or a pair of heels for a night out, and add some long pendant necklaces. For cooler nights, add a leather jacket. Give your older pieces a more updated look by adding new and different accessories, and don’t be afraid to mix and match your pieces for additional looks.

Fashion trends are always changing, so keep up with them by buying one or two new pieces and incorporating your old pieces with the new ones. Check out companies like TrendCue for more inspiration.
